Day Care Centre in RDT emerged in the year 2007 to work with the children below 5 years of age. These centers were created, seeing the children below 5 years of age were simply left uncared by their parents while they went for construction work, quarry and Brick kilns. The main aim of the centers is to provide preschool education along with nutritious food. Above all, parents do not have any safe place to leave their children while they go for work. If parents are engaged in work, their children cannot get adequate nutritious food and water, whenever need arises for the children. In order to mitigate these issues, RDT ventured into this activity. There are ICDS centers, run by the Government but these children are not admitted there.
RDT takes pleasure to journey with migrant children who were denied of basic needs. Children in the centre would be illuminated with light of preschool knowledge and their potentials are actualized to shine when they are admitted in the primary schools. Basics are taught to the children through play way method. All the children who attend the preschool education are given pencil, slate fir writing practice. Children have access to safe drinking water, toilet facility and spacious kitchen. Cleanliness is maintained and children are guided to follow health tips. RDT conducts health camps for these children in the construction site to promote health and hygiene. Regular attendance and all the registers related to school management are maintained in all the centers to keep the quality and the maximum standard. RDT provides certificates to the children who undergo this course here in the centre.
Since we have these centres in their work sites, sibling care has been stopped in the families. Mothers who took care of the children are able to go for work and the families have more income to manage their economical issues. Since it is very close by their working areas, they are able to breast feed the babies too. Children are also not affected by the cement powder and the dust, which arises from construction work. This also prevents the deaths of the children affected with malnutrition.
